He has passed the General Insurance Business exam (IF2) and is now looking forward to completing the two remaining modules of his insurance claims handler apprenticeship.
Ben was presented with his pass certificate by Catalyst Managing Director Brad Jackson. He has been helped along the way by coaching from more experienced Catalyst colleagues and support provided by the company’s apprenticeship partner, The Wiser Academy.
He said: “Catalyst has been great as an employer because I was given two hours a day of revision time to prepare for two weeks before the exam, so I was confident I knew the course content.
“I wanted to get the biggest module out of the way first, so I didn’t have to worry about it for longer than I needed to. I’ve learned a lot, and have been putting my knowledge into practice every day.”
Ben certainly had to learn a lot to pass the exam, including insurance law and regulations, customer service, underwriting practice, and the work of independent regulatory bodies, to name just a few topics.
Catalyst Business Improvement Manager Yvonne Bardsley said: “It’s still early days, but Ben has been very diligent in his studies, and we expect him to continue to do very well. Ben has been provided with a fantastic support structure within the operational management team.
“His success epitomises Catalyst’s desire to attract bright and motivated people into the insurance claims industry and support them with training to deliver excellent service for our clients and their claims customers.”
