Catalyst team steps up to make donation to food bank

Colleagues at Catalyst Services UK have prepared hundreds of items of food to give to their local food bank – at a time when many such charities are experiencing a drop-off in donations.

Breakfast cereals, tinned food, rice, shampoo and washing detergent were among more than 260 items that made up the donation to Oldham Foodbank.

It was the second donation of food made by Catalyst, which is based in Delph, Oldham, Greater Manchester, as part of its commitment to support local communities and people in need.

Catalyst Managing Director Brad Jackson said: “I’d like to give heartfelt thanks to every colleague involved in organising and delivering the donated food. Their compassion and teamwork really make a difference.”

Oldham Foodbank does ‘brilliant work’

The donation reflects our Catalyst’s commitment to community engagement, said Brad Jackson, adding: “The cost of living continues to impact many households. We believe in standing together and offering assistance where it is needed most.”

Yvonne Bardsley, Business Improvement Manager at Catalyst, said: “With winter months around the corner we wanted to support the community with some hearty food items: pasta, rice, and soups are among our donations.

“Like other food banks, our local one here in Oldham has experienced a dip in the number of donations in recent months, perhaps a sign that there are a growing number of priorities for our resources.

“However, Oldham Foodbank continues to do brilliant work, supporting families and vulnerable people on low incomes who need a helping hand to get by, and Catalyst is proud to support its work.”

Money for the food items has come from the Catalyst Community Fund, which has been set up to provide support for people, groups and organisations who benefit from a little extra help.
