Catalyst Services UK has launched the latest in its series of service guides, with publication of part one of a three part guide to subsidence.

The question and answer style guide explains what subsidence is, common signs that it is happening, and the main causes of subsidence, with a particular focus on the potential influence of trees.

The subsidence guide is designed to assist insurance claims specialists, loss adjusters, and property professionals who may need accurate and up-to-date information about the topic.

Sharing expertise

Catalyst is one of the UK’s leading providers of specialist services to the insurance and loss adjusting industries, delivering claims solutions involving subsidence investigation, drainage, off-mains drainage, water supply pipes and leak detection.

Catalyst Operations Director Paul Duddle is a leading member of the Subsidence Forum, a national body that coordinates discussion about subsidence issues within the insurance, building surveying, construction, planning and arboriculture sectors.

He said: “At Catalyst, we believe strongly in sharing our expertise and knowledge so other organisations, companies and property owners can make informed decisions about their assets.

“Subsidence is one of the most complicated and difficult issues to investigate, monitor, and respond to, in terms of structure protection and repair, which is why we’ve created this service guide.

“Through the Catalyst Training Academy, we also offer insurance providers and property management professionals with courses for their teams, so they can respond effectively to these issues, giving their customers the best possible support.”
