JOB PURPOSE

As an apprentice you will learn all aspects of underground service claims management. We will ensure that your progress will be guided by a rigorous training programme, providing access to insurance learning material with the opportunity to obtain relevant qualifications.

You will learn how to:

Carry out desk-top handling of insurance claims.
Provide administrative support and handle incoming and outgoing calls for the insurance function, and ensure the delivery of service to our clients to the required standards.
Work flexibly, in a rapidly developing office environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Communicate effectively when making outbound calls or taking inbound calls.
Develop and maintain working relationships with both internal and external customers.
Take incoming instructions, manage, and appoint, the appropriate claim roles.
Ensure that key performance indicators and deadlines are met throughout the insurance claims handling process.

You will also act as a contributing member of the team and undertake such other duties as reasonably required.

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILL

A Level qualifications (preferably including mathematics and/or technical skills)
Pleasant, clear telephone manner
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate, both verbal and written, at all levels within the organisation
Capable of working under own initiative and without supervision
Numerate and methodical with a keen eye for detail
A proactive self-starter who demonstrates a can-do attitude
Strong organisational skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines and schedules
Competent in the use of Microsoft Office i.e. Word, Excel, and Outlook
